Detailed Description

This beautiful cross pendant blends the warmth of natural, precious carnelian stone with the golden gleam of pure 14 KT Gold Vermeil, a process by which genuine sterling silver is expertly plated with 14 KT gold, for affordable quality and decadent luxury.

Avante garde jewelry artist Joie Jager chose two sizes of golden hoops to make this rarely-seen chain of stunning beauty. To prove its authenticity, the chain sports a tiny signature stamp right beside the lobster claw clasp. If you look carefully at the carnelian stone, you can see a slight, old-world irregularity to the shape of the cross. This is common in hand-wrought carvings, and not an imperfection.

The ancient Egyptians used carnelian as a protective stone, and it's also associated with giving the wearer (who may be a bit timid), the courage to speak boldly and well. We can�t say this for sure, but the ancients swore by it!

At the top of the cross, where it links to the chain, Joie has fashioned a tiny, pink accent bead. Exquisite!

Length: 32"L. Chain hoops are 1/2" and 1/4" in diameter, Cross measures 3"L x 2 /34"W.

About Gold Vermeil: This process is a very fine electroplating of gold upon precious sterling silver metal. Finish will stay fresh and gorgeous so long as you gently cleanse this piece, never using any harsh chemicals. (Of course, this is good advice for ALL your fine jewelry.)
